Denver, Colo., USA — February 24, 2025 — Exolaunch, the global leader in mission management, satellite integration, and deployment services, is set to support the deployment of two rideshare payloads aboard the Intuitive Machines' IM-2 mission launching no earlier than February 26, 2025, marking a historic first: Exolaunch's debut on a lunar-bound mission.
For this mission, Exolaunch is supplying its flight-proven CarboNIX separation system to facilitate the deployment of Intuitive Machines-customer payloads from AstroForge and Epic Aerospace, two companies at the forefront of deep space resource utilization and in-space logistics. AstroForge's Odin spacecraft is set to intercept and fly-by near earth asteroid 2022OB5, investigating the surface composition for potential future missions. Additionally, Exolaunch's EXOpod Nova deployer will be mounted to Epic Aerospace's orbital transfer vehicle (OTV), enabling the secondary deployment of a cubesat at a precise mission phase post-launch.

This mission expands Exolaunch's growing portfolio beyond LEO and GEO, demonstrating the adaptability and reliability of its hardware for lunar and future deep space applications. CarboNIX, known for its ultra-smooth, low-shock separation technology, will provide a safe and precise deployment for the AstroForge and Epic Aerospace payloads. The EXOpod Nova deployer, designed for high-volume payload capacity, ensures that small satellites can operate on an extended mission timeline when integrated with an OTV or other spacecraft.
“Supporting these rideshares represents an exciting new chapter for Exolaunch,” said Robert W. Sproles, chief executive officer at Exolaunch. “As we continue expanding our hardware capabilities, stepping into the realm of lunar deployments is a natural evolution for us. We are honored to provide our trusted separation systems to AstroForge and Epic Aerospace as they embark on their pioneering missions beyond Earth orbit.”

Exolaunch's support on this mission will underscore the company's ability to support customers targeting new frontiers through providing precise and reliable separation solutions for payloads venturing toward the Moon and beyond. As the space industry accelerates toward lunar and deep space exploration, Exolaunch remains at the forefront, providing mission-critical deployment hardware and seamless integration support to empower the next generation of explorers.
